Breast milk is the optimal food for babies. Lactose, a fat emulsion in a protein solution, and inorganic salts are found in breast milk, which is secreted by the mammary glands and serves as infant nourishment. Given the importance of breastfeeding in the postpartum period, many postpartum mothers often experience ineffective breastfeeding, with various causes. These include breast engorgement, breast infection, low milk supply, incorrect breastfeeding techniques, and maternal inactivity. Oketani Breast Massage is one way to alleviate lactation problems easily and without expensive equipment or expense. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Oketani massage on breast milk sufficiency in postpartum mothers at the Sukorame Community Health Center in Kediri City. The study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-posttest approach. The population in this study were postpartum mothers on day 3, who had no complications for the mother or baby, were not taking any breast milk-stimulating medication, and complained of inefficient breast milk supply. The sample size for this study was 7 postpartum mothers, who matched the characteristics of the population. The Oketani massage was performed for three days, with a duration of 15-30 minutes in the morning and evening. The study was conducted at the Sukorame Community Health Center in Kediri City. Data collection used an observation sheet. The Wilcoxon test was used as a statistical test. Based on the statistical test results, Z = -3.448b and a P value = 0.001 < α = 0.05. Therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, indicating that Oketani massage significantly impacts breast milk sufficiency in postpartum mothers at the Sukorame Community Health Center in Kediri City. Oketani massage has a positive effect on postpartum mothers, resulting in elastic areolas and nipples, softer breast consistency, and increased milk production. The research findings indicate that Oketani massage is highly beneficial for postpartum mothers as a solution to reduce lactation problems.
